THG was recently awarded a contract from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health in Arizona. The scope of work involves compiling a comprehensive epidemiological report from the extensive data the Department compiled on cases of H1N1 influenza cases in the county during 2009-10, and is due in late June 2011. Here is the description of the project from the RFP:
During the 2009-10 pandemic, Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) had thousands of cases of novel H1N1 influenza reported among its residents and more than 70 deaths. MCDPH staff did in- depth case investigations of hospitalized cases, pregnant cases, fatal cases, and pediatric cases. They collected and/or monitored influenza-like illness (ILI) absences from schools, respiratory patients presenting at hospitals and urgent cares, and outbreaks of respiratory illnesses at schools. MCDPH also conducted several studies on opinions and attitudes about vaccinations and the pandemic, among other data collected. MCDPH is seeking a Contractor to compile, analyze, and summarize these data into a comprehensive epidemiological final report.
