From The Roaring Twenties to Modern Green: The Henne Group's sustainable move

This April, San Francisco’s historic Russ Building suite 723 became the new home for The Henne Group’s main offices. The building, named for California settler Charles Christian Russ and located at 235 Montgomery St. in the heart of the San Francisco financial district, first opened in 1927. A prominent 31-floor building, the Russ was recognized as the tallest building west of the Mississippi until 1955 and the tallest in the city until 1964.

While its exterior design reflects the Roaring Twenties era’s design aesthetic with terracotta ornamentation and vertical lines, the building’s 2016 renovation now puts it on the list of LEED Platinum-certified spaces.

“The Henne Group is thrilled to make our new home in the Russ Building,” said CEO and President Jeff Henne. “We are proud to be in this beautiful LEED-certified space as it provides healthy surroundings for our employees and makes a sustainable footprint on the environment,” he said.
